::This beautiful Buddist Temple has the only museum on Christmas Island. The temple features a giant Boddhi tree grown from cuttings taken from the tree Buddah recieved enlightenment beneath. It may appear to be closed when you arrive but simply walk around the back and find someone to show you in. Privately set up and dedicated to the lives and culture of the poor Chinese workers recruited to work in this remote place 125 years ago to mine the phosphate. It features photographs and old maps. Well worth a visit.
